Decorated in a mix of contemporary and Florentine style, this cute apartment features one bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a comfortable large futon, a dining room joined to it as one large space, a full bathroom with shower, and a kitchenette with many appliances you may need for a comfortable stay.
The apartment is on the ground level. So, there is no need to climb up stairs. It is situated on the back side of the building and the windows don't open up to street, so you can enjoy a good night sleep while being in close proximity of touristic spots. The small back yard adds another nice feature.
There is also a fee-based parking garage less than 200 m. (600 ft.) from the apartment. So, despite being located in a traffic limited zone, which is how it is in the historic center, access by car is also convenient.

Dubai There are two things that best describe this apartment - amazing location and amazing hostess!
Via Faenza is an ideal location if you want to be close to the Duomo, central station and great trattorias. The street also has very lots of convenience stores, and is 2 mins walk away from a big supermarket. The apartment was very clean, cozy, well furnished and well stocked. There were even essential books on Florence and Tuscany in general (e.g. Lonely Planet Guide, etc.). The internet worked perfectly given my wife and I needed to use to to do bookings for the rest of our trip.
Marjan was a great host, very nice, flexible, trustworthy and accomodating. She welcomed us in a very warm way, and was always avaialble to give great recommendations and answer our questions. We will definitely take her advice and use an apartment that she manages next time we are in Tuscany. Thank you Marjan!

USA Marjan was an amazing host! She was incredibly welcoming, showed us around the apartment and even had a list of recommended restaurant & activities prepared. The apartment is perfectly located - within walking distance of the train station (even with luggage!) and close to numerous attractions in Florence. I was traveling with one of my girlfriends throughout Italy (Rome, Florence, Cinque Terre & Venice) and this was definitely our favorite apartment - I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Florence!

USA This apartment is in such a great location, very close to all the major sites and places to eat and be merry. Being on the first floor was very good for us as we did NOT travel light! Marjan is a very gracious hostess, meeting us when we arrived, providing assistance with calling a cab when we departed. Her apartment is clean, with all of the basic kitchen accessories included for your use (pots, plates, glasses, some basic spices and olive oil, etc.) The bathroom has a shower, no tub, which was just fine with us. The unit and the outdoor space is a little dark, as it's on the ground floor. This was no issue for me, as the darkness was nice when I wanted to sleep. The outside space is for this unit's exclusive use. Buildings surround the outdoor space (other folks' windows open to the "air-shaft".) The washer was a great feature, as we needed to wash a few items. The unit is located on a pedestrian-only street, so when you arrive, the cab can drop you at the door. However, you'd need to catch the outbound cab down the street. If, unlike us, you travel really light, you can walk from the train/bus station very easily as it's only a few minutes away. There was wi-fi included in the rate for the place as well, which was also very handy.

Thailand We stayed at Marjan's apartment with the balcony. It was a really good experience. Super convenient and we would give thumbs up for it being on the first floor since we never succeeded in traveling light. We contacted her last minute but it had turned out to be one of our best airbnb experience. Marjan was very attentive to whatever that we needed. What a lovely apartment! Marjan obviously has taken great care to make it a warm, comfortable and inviting place to stay. All of the amenities were either new or well maintained......and spotless! There were only two of us staying there but it certainly could have accommodated up to four with the futon in the living room. An added bonus to this apartment was the wonderful garden off the kitchen, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The location of the apartment was perfect for taking in the essence of Florence. Thanks, Marjan, for making our stay in Florence even more special.

We've stayed in apartments in several European capitals, and this one is our favorite so far. Fabulous location, charming apartment, very comfortable for us four (couple with adult child and teenager). Never felt crowded. Very quiet, private and cool (in august). The best combination of comfort and economy for us. If you are XXL, the shower might be a tight fit. It was fine for us.

Having the mercato centrale just behind the building is also a fantastic opportunity to buy great products for cooking. France We had a fantastic time in this apartment. The apartment is beautiful, clean, fully equipped and in the very centre of Florence : San Lorenzo and Medici chapel are literally on the next block to the apartment and Duomo is a 5-minute walk away only. Even with such a central location, the apartment was still quiet and peaceful at night and having a courtyard made it even better. Marjan was nice and really helpful. We had a problem with our plane so we had to check-in very late and she was still on hand to meet us, show us around the place and answer our questions. And what about Firenze ? Clearly one of the most beautiful city in the world. We want already to stay in Marjan's apartment again . HIGHLY recommended !

USA This apartment is a true gem in one of Italy's most beautiful cities. While it does not have a view, it more than makes for it with cleanliness, spaciousness, and location! Everything in the city center is just a short walk (via faenza has a market, gelato shop, and cafes all within a stone's throw of the apartment) yet the nights are quiet and you can leave the windows open to the courtyard. Marjan was very helpful (her English was the best we encountered in our five-city tour using all Airbnb apartments) and she left us feeling ready to use anything we might need. This apartment is perfect for a couple or up to four people (the fold-out bed is surprisingly firm and comfortable). Highly recommended, and so much more space than even the 4-star hotels!

Australia Staying in Florence or if you prefer Firenze, at Marjan's apartment was amazing, we were so comfortable here it truly made our stay so wonderful. The apartment is an easy walk from the train station and close to Duomo and other attractions such as the Ponte Vecchio. Coming home from a day out and cooking Italian food to enjoy in the beautiful courtyard was a highlight for us after 4 weeks on the go travelling. Marjan greeted us on arrival and gave us lots of information and advice to hep us get started. We also appreciated having an easy to use washing machine to refresh our suitcases, we were very sad to leave after our 5 night stay, it was so homely and convenient to all Florence has to offer.

Australia We loved Marjan`s apartment, it had everything we needed and is very nicely decorated. The location is perfect, close to the station and just a walk to everywhere we wanted to go. The backyard is a real bonus, especially as we had perfect weather, we were able to wash our clothes and relax outside. UK Everything we wanted in a location perfect for visiting the centre of Florence. Comfortable and well furnished with all the home comforts. You can walk anywhere you want to visit from her and see all the major sights easily. If you are looking for somewhere comfortable,central and reasonably priced for 2-4 people, but best for 1 couple or a family of 4, look no further. USA We just spent 6 days in Florence in this lovely, clean, apartment. Centrally located in the old city, it was easy walking distance to all sights in Florence in a safe neighborhood. Everything a traveler would need was at the apartment. Excellent beds, linens, towels, nice cookware and dishes. We shopped daily at the Mercato market just one block away for easy carryout meals and snacks. An easy 2 blocks from the train station which has all the buses and trams. Marjan met us at the apartment and let us "do our thing" for the week. Lovely place, courtyard is great. Stay here for worry free stay in Florence. Fun Wine bar just up the street.

Australia Fabulous. Right in the heart of the town. Turn around the corner and you have the markets of San Lorenzo, turn around another corner and the Duomo is just a stones throw away. The apartment was cosy, comfortable, and historic. You could walk out the door and know that it was there waiting for you at the end of a days busy sightseeing. Somewhere to kick off your shoes and put your feet up. Wi-fi was excellent so you can upload those photo's to share and for others to envy.

USA My wife, 3-year-old daughter, and I really enjoyed staying in this apartment. Marjan was great from the moment we arrived, taking the time to show us the apartment and how everything worked, and even letting us keep our suitcases in the apartment after our checkout time so we wouldn't have to drag them with us around the city before we caught a train. She had plenty of information about Florence in the apartment as well, which was very helpful. The space is great, and the courtyard is a wonderful place to spend the evening. There are plenty of shops around, and you are very close to many of the sites in Florence as well as a short walk from Santa Maria Novella train station. We would definitely stay here again, and hopefully for longer next time!

USA Lovely Apartment. Very spacious and comfortable. My daughter and I visited Florence to enjoy the museums and shopping. Marjan's place was a great location for everything we wanted to see. She met us at the apartment and carefully explained how to operate all the appliances etc since we are from the USA. She even had directions for each printed in dual languages. My college daughter stayed in the bedroom and was very comfortable, we called it her nest. So cozy. I stayed in the main room on the couch/bed and it was also very comfortable. There was a wardrobe available for me to store my things. After hours of walking it was so nice to come back and relax and recharge. The kitchen was stocked with every dish/pan needed but we were also next to many restaurants and one of the best gelato places in town. Florence is lovely as was Marjan. We would love to stay there again.

The apartment is in a very accessible location with the leather market and the big market just a couople of minutes away and small grocery stores a few steps away. I had a wonderful time buying groceries to cook simple meals for my family. I felt like a local Florencian.
The apartment is furnished like a home, with all the small little touches and good quality equipment.
The owner, Marjan is pleasant and very helpful.

The walls are thin so there's some noise from within the building, but everyone's fairly considerate and there isn't a lot of noise after 9 pm or so. If you are looking for a haven of tranquility right in the heart of the historic centre of Florence then look no further!
This lovely appartment is furnished beautifully and Marjan has equipped it very thoughtfully with everything you need for your stay. We did not eat in much as there are inexpensive places to eat all very local, but there is everything you need in the appartment including oil, salt/pepper, vinegar etc and tea, coffee, sugar. We also did not have to buy washing up liquid or toilet rolls which was a very welcome bonus. There is even washing liquitabs if you need to use the washing machine.
All the major sights of Florence are all very accessible from the appartment and all minutes walk away. Being in the centre of the city really was a huge bonus. The train and bus station are equally handy and there were plenty of supermarkets nearby including the fabulous indoor food market
Marjan is really helpful and gave us lots of useful information on our arrival. She emailed during our stay to make sure we did not need anything.
We will be recommending this wonderful appartment to friends and family and will definately stay again if we visit Florence again

We loved this place; there were two of us with plenty of room to move about. I can't stress enough how spotlessly clean the flat was - it was like we were the first ones ever to stay there. This immediately made me feel at home and comfortable. We stayed for 3 nights & everything we needed was there; from towels, to bath soap, to wine glasses & coffee. The kitchen is great & Marjan will show you how everything works - because I was on vacation, I didn't really pay attention b/c I wasn't going to cook! But we used the glasses & plates for wine & appetizers before dinner. It's in a safe area; there are a ton of restaurants nearby. Bermuda Triangle gelato - is the best. Marjan was readily available and very accommodating, which in turn made us feel like VIP. All the sights are within walking distance. Few last things, the bed was comfortable; no noise from outside; there's not much sun b/c it's on the first floor but we were only in the flat in early morning & later in the evening. No steps made coming & going a breeze (compared to the other cities we stayed in). It's so close to the train station - no taxi needed. Thank you Marjan for a memorable stay in Firenze - we will recommend the place to our friends!

This is a perfect location for your visit to Florence and we would be happy to stay here again when we return. Just a short walk from the train station and then on to all the wonderful sites. Marjan was immediately there to greet us and brief us on the apartment. She contacted us several times during our stay to see if we needed anything and if everything was ok. It was easy to access at ground level, secure, perfectly outfitted and spotless. We noticed very little noise in the apartment and slept peacefully. Temperature control was excellent. We appreciated having Wi-fi and the laundry too as it was in the middle of our trip. There are many good and yet economical restaurants surrounding the apartment and a wonderful local market. If you want the more luxurious restaurants they are easy to find nearby too. We loved just walking and exploring the town and felt very safe here. One of our favourite days was cycling with Tuscany Bike Tours to see the beautiful local countryside. It was a great first experience for us in Florence and Marjan helped make it easier for us with a list of local restaurants, markets, pharmacies etc. We could definately sense her pride in this home and community.

Spain Cozy and quiet apartment in the center of Florence, just a few minutes from the Duomo and the train station. We only see Marjan for a while, but she was very nice. The backyard is perfect for a glass of wine at night. Only a little complaint: there are many small mosquitoes in the yard (perhaps by plants), they come into the living room and really itchy. Highly recommended. We will be back!

USA We absolutely loved staying at Marjan's flat! It had an ideal location near the train station and walking distance to all the sights. The grocery store is three doors down so it made it very nice! Marjan was so very kind and she was excellent host. The apartment was absolutely beautiful (as beautiful as the pictures) and very very clean which was great! It has all the basics for cooking as we did one time. The wifi connection was good and it was nice to be able to do a load of laundry. When we come back, we will definitely stay at her place again. 5 star host and apartment!

Canada We loved our stay in Florence and were so happy that we decided to stay at Marjan's Historic Center Apartment +Backyard! Her place was in a perfect location. Within walking distance to everything and near lots of great restaurants! Her place was VERY clean and all the appliances were new and easy to use. Her place is only a short 5 minute walk from the train station. She met us upon arrival at the apartment and showed us around. She gave us suggestions of where to go, places to eat and how to get around! She genuinely cares about her guests and wants them to enjoy their time in Florence. Her place fit 4 adults just fine (one couple in the bedroom and two adults on the queen size futon in the living room. I would recommend Marjan's apartment to anyone traveling to Florence. I wish we could have stayed longer....I wish I was still there.

USA Amazing apartment in an amazing Location
This apartment was the perfect place to stay in Florence. It is a very short walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station and close to the Central Market and San Lorenzo. Just about all of historic Florence is within walking distance. There are numerous places to eat right there, and several small supermarkets close by for things you can't get at the Central Market. The apartment itself is wonderful. I was on my own, but it would be suitable for a family of 4, especially since there is a small outside area for kids to play. Marjan equips the apartment with coffee, and there is a nice bathroom, kitchen with small stove, fridge with a real freezer (and ice cubes), toaster, microwave and a few basics like oil, vinegar and sugar, and a small bedroom. The bedroom and kitchen open out onto the backyard/patio. Especially appreciated was the air conditioning and the free wifi. The apartment stays cool during the day even with the air conditioning off, so it was nice to come back in the afternoon after a morning in the heat to cool off and rest a bit. Marjan is very nice and makes herself available if there are any issues. My only issue, which really isn't even an issue, was that the apartment had a little funky smell that I stopped noticing after a while - not bad, just a distinctive sort smell that could have been from cleaning products or maybe even the oil used for fragrance in the bathroom. I would sometimes notice it when I came in, but not so much any other time. I just really loved this place - spotlessly clean, great location, great amenities - I felt like I was really living in Florence.

USA This apartment is located in an area that is ideal for walking to the local sights. It is quiet inside though it is in a very high walking traffic area, once inside you never know it, so quiet! We had a great stay and would easily stay there again. One note of caution though DO NOT use the directions from (website hidden) to get to the apartment they are WAAAY OFF! Use the directions Marjan will send you. If it takes you more then 10 minutes to walk from the train station something is wrong. It is very easy to walk to all of the major sightseeing spots and pleanty of places to eat. We felt very safe at night walking about , all in all a wonderful time! Al

USA Marjan was an excellent host and we highly recommend her apartment in Florence. The apartment is very conveniently located on a great street with excellent restaurants (and Gelato!) and very close to the central market and the Duomo, but just far enough away that you don't feel overrun by tourists. Her apartment is small, but extremely clean and very nicely stocked with all the essentials (thank you for the coffee!). It is very clear that Marjan takes great pride in this apartment and keeping it well maintained, despite being over 800 years old (just think of all of the people who have crossed this doorstep over all those years). Marjan provided very clear directions prior to our arrival and made sure that we enjoyed our visit by giving detailed recommendations on the best shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. Her recommendations were spot on, too, and we ended up relying more on her notes than the other guidebooks we had brought with us - she really knows what she is talking about! We are a family of 4 with two young girls (ages 5 & 7) and we were all very comfortable in this apartment. Very safe and clean. In summary, we recommend Marjan and her apartment without reservation.

One of the best parts of this rental is Marjan! She was very prompt in her responses, ensured that we had everything we needed, was open to suggestions for future rentals and even put up with our later than we thought arrival at great inconvenience to her! (We missed our first train.) Plus - her English is excellent!
The apartment is about a 5 minute walk from the train station - very appealing when you are doing all your travel by train and don't want the added expense of other transportation to lodgings. It was clean, in a perfect location and most importantly - the air conditioning kept the apartment nice and cool! (We found in other hotels/rentals on this trip that the air conditioning was less than adequate!) The washer and dryer came in handy!
The apartment was only one block off of the main flea market area and only two blocks from the best gelato place in all of Italy! This is great when you love to shop in Florence and have a quota of at least two gelato a day :-) I was there with two of my early 20's children.
The only drawback was the double bed could use a new mattress. My daughter and I kept rolling into each other, but it was preferable to the ROCKS we slept on at other hotels! Having a few extra towels and toilet paper would have been welcome but not a deal breaker.
July 2012Host ReplyThanks for your kind words, but I have to say that the mattress IS in fact NEW and there has never been a complaint earlier about its comfort. I understand though, that degree of firmness of a mattress is a matter of taste.
It was good to see there were unused towels you left after your departure because I worried you ran out of them. I have since added more towels and toilet paper anyways. I wish you had asked me during your stay and would be happy to provide more because there is not much space in the apartment considering that we have to leave space also for the guests luggage and belongings.

Canada Awesome Family Trip to Florence
Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers) had a wonderful time in Florence and this apartment was the cornerstone. The apartment is centrally located to everything!! Every service needed by a family is just minutes away by foot - train station (5 minutes), supermarket (5 minutes), open air market (just around the corner), open air food market (5 minutes away), the Dumo (5 minutes). In other words, everything is in easy walking distance.
The apartment itself is wonderful. Separate air conditioning for the living room and bedroom and a wonderful courtyard to sit and have a coffee in the morning. The kitchen was stocked with some basic goods (oil, sugar, coffee).
Full sized fridge to store our grocery items and a two burner induction stove allowed us to prepare simple pasta meals. We would come home for lunch to escape the heat of the day and rest up for the evening.
Our family recommends this apartment and we are hoping to come back soon.

We've stayed at many vacation rentals and this was overall one of the best experiences we had. The apartment itself is conveniently located 5 min from the train station and 10-15 min walk from all the major historic attractions. Compact but fully equipped with everything, including some that we didn't expect such as coffee, variety of teas, oil/vinegar, detergent for the washer etc. Well functioning ac units which really helped with the summer heat.
Marjan herself was very through--very responsive to our emails, was waiting for us when we got there, and explained everything to us.
This is a gem of a place and we highly recommend it.

Perfectly situated to enjoy the heart of the old town, very nice, perfectly equipped - and everything is sooo conveniently organized. Lots of shops around. It took me very little time to feel totally at home, comfortably settled in. I had to work a few hours during my stay (had to prepare an important meeting), and it turned out to be actually agreeable (WiFi works fine). Marjan, the host, is a very nice and totally reliable person. Let me sum it up: I warmly recommend this place.

This was a wonderful place to stay with lots of amenities to make the trip pleasant. The apartment was clean and very bright. Marjan was helpful and provided us with many maps of the area and directions on how to use the appliances. The location of this apartment is what really makes it the best. We stayed here for 2 nights, and it couldn't have been better! The apartment is very centrally located - a quick walk from the train station. It is also incredibly clean and very well equipped. Marjan has really thought of everything one could need including coffee supplies, hair dryer, etc. There is also a little grocery store a few doors down, if you need anything.
The internet and the aC both worked well, which came in handy. In addition, Marjan was lovely! She met us at the apartment when we arrived and went over everything with us and met us at checkout when we left. I would happily recommend this apartment to anyone!

US I'm not sure which was more wonderful-- the apartment in Florence or the host, Marjan. I've been to Florence 4 or 5 times & the location of this apartment is FANTASTIC-- 2 minute walk to the SMN train station, 2 minute walk to the big market, 5 minute walk to the Duomo. Being right in the heart of it all I worried a bit about noise, but there was none-- amazingly. There was even a sweet, little outdoor courtyard where you could have a glass of wine & relax. Additionally, there's a small grocery store a few doors down which was great for picking up some bare essentials, snacks, etc. The apartment had a bedroom as well as a sleeper couch, which was plenty comfortable. It also had a nice, small dining table, a complete kitchen, a full bathroom & wi-fi access. There were also a handful of maps & guidebooks available for guest usage. Also, Marjan is a sweetheart. She was incredibly responsive, gave great directions to find the apartment & when we were running late & needed to leave our suitcases for a few hours beyond check out she was so accommodating. Without a doubt, I will stay here again on my next journey to Florence.

Boston I was hesitant to book at the beginning because there were no reviews, but I'm so glad I did and had the honor of being the first guest to leave a review for this Historic Center apartment. It made my stay in Florence enjoyable and wonderful. I had been in Florence before so I can tell what a difference it made this time just because I stayed in a better place. The location was perfect, the apartment was very clean, nicely decorated, and well equipped with quality appliances. I was close to everything I needed and saved so much time. From museums to Tuscan food market, and from train station to restaurants, everything was so close in a nice and safe neighborhood. I should add that for having such central location the peace and quite that this apartment has is a major plus. Marjan was so kind and helpful and I will definitely be back to her apartment next time I plan to come to Florence.

This is a great home base for a stay in Florence. (So much so, I would rather keep it a secret!) Clean, rustic meets modern, and with everything you'd need for a stay.
Centrally located on a street that is a pedestrian street most of the time. (They open it up for cars at certain hours.) It is on the back side of the building, so it is quiet. Marjan met me at the apartment, showed me around and even left instructions for all of the appliances, should you need them. (If you've ever tried to figure out a foreign clothes washer, instructions in English are an important detail.) Beds (including the futon in the living room) were comfortable. Bathroom was a good size. Shower was small, but right in line with (and perhaps a tiny bit bigger than) other showers we had in Italy.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend it for friends heading to Florence.
